About Indian Scripts

Source Script: Devanagari

Devanagari is an abugida alphabet of India and Nepal. It is written from left to right, has a strong preference for symmetrical rounded shapes within squared outlines, and is recognizable by a horizontal line that runs along the top of full letters.

Target Script: Latin (English)

The Latin script is the basis of the international phonetic alphabet. Our transliteration follows standard academic conventions for representing Indian scripts in Latin characters, preserving pronunciation as closely as possible.
